0% Credit Cards
If you want to make purchases on your credit cards but you cannot afford to clear the balance at the end of the month in order to avoid interest charges then you may find that a 0% credit card will prove useful.
With a 0% credit card you can spread the repayments on purchases and enjoy a period of interest free credit where you will not be charged any interest on your purchase balance.
The interest free period offered on 0% credit cards can vary from one provider to another. You should compare the different periods in order to find one that suits you.
As long as you repay your purchase balance within this period you will not be charged any interest on it. Any remaining balance at the end of the 0% period will be charged at the lender’s standard variable rate.
You should bear in mind that the 0% deal on these credit cards only applied to purchases and not to cash transactions, withdrawals, or balance transfers (unless otherwise specified).
You should therefore use your card to make purchases only, and then aim to repay the balance in full within the 0% period offered by the card provider.
